Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions should be read in conjunction with our privacy policy and FAQ page.

These terms and conditions relate to your relationship with FiveOffers when ordering a UCAS personal statement review.

Summary

FiveOffers provides a UCAS personal statement critiquing service by which you are given a report that details suggestions for improvement. In essence, you are paying for opinion from those who have experience reviewing UCAS personal statements. The service does not include any extensive editing or writing content from scratch. The report you receive is similar to the example one available for download from the FiveOffers website.

You get a free complementary second-draft review, subject to a few conditions.

Refunds: FiveOffers does not provide refunds unless you ask in writing to cancel your order before FiveOffers begins work reviewing your UCAS personal statement. In this case you will receive a full refund. If you request to cancel the order later, for example in the middle of a review, refunds are at the discretion of FiveOffers. If FiveOffers fails to deliver your critique report to you within a week, FiveOffers will issue a full refund and will be freed from obligation of fulfilling the order.

Details on the website, such as prices, service specifications and these terms are subject to change without notice.

It is your responsibility to check that using FiveOffers services does not breach any conditions as specified by your school, college or university. You will not hold FiveOffers liable for any such breach.

FiveOffers will not be held liable for any loss, accusation of plagiarism, or failure to gain admission into any university.

Definitions

‘Client’ refers to the party ordering the Service from FiveOffers

‘Service’ refers to FiveOffers producing and delivering a report to the Client in which the Client’s UCAS personal statement is critiqued and suggestions for improvement are made.

‘Acknowledgement’ refers to a form of communication (e.g. email) that FiveOffers sends to the Client to acknowledge that the Client’s UCAS personal statement has been allocated to a reviewer and work is ready to begin.

‘Submission’ refers to the moment the Client has successfully submitted the order form and has paid the correct amount for the Service.

Formation of Contract

A binding contract will become valid if and only if the Client completes an order form, successfully pays the correct amount for the Service, and FiveOffers sends an Acknowledgement.

Pricing

All prices include VAT where applicable and are subject to change without notice.

Refunds and Cancellations

Cancellations must be made in writing via the website contact form.

Due to the highly personalised, and time consuming, nature of the Service FiveOffers generally operates a no-refund policy. Refunds are only made in exceptional circumstances as detailed below.

The Client may cancel the sale without penalty before Acknowledgement. In this case the Client will receive a full refund.

All other refunds will be given at the sole discretion of FiveOffers.

Strictly no refunds shall be made after FiveOffers completes work for the Client and delivers the Service to the client.

FiveOffers provides the Service subject to the availability of its reviewers and other resources. If FiveOffers cannot deliver the Service to the Client within seven (7) days of Submission it will issue a full refund and, if applicable, terminate the contract. In this case, FiveOffers will not be obliged to complete the work and cannot be held liable to the Client for non-performance or otherwise.

Second-draft Reviews

The Client is entitled to a free second-draft review of his or her UCAS personal statement.

The second-draft review service is different from and is not included with the Service as described above.

Second-draft reviews take a lower priority than first-draft reviews and may take up to 14 days to process. The amount of criticism and detail comprising the critique will be much lower than that of a full Service.

To be eligible, the Client must submit a second draft of his or her UCAS personal statement directly via email to the FiveOffers representative with whom the Client has contact with within one calendar month of receiving the Service. The UCAS personal statement provided must be primarily the original material. That is to say, FiveOffers will not accept a new personal statement submitted for critique under this scheme.

Complaints

Complaints can be made via the contact form on the FiveOffers website.

FiveOffers will under no circumstances incur any liability of any kind or nature whether in contract or tort or otherwise or for any loss of profits or any other consequential loss, including accusations of plagiarism and failure to gain admission to universities, arising out of the use of the Services by the Client or the late delivery of any of the Services or in the event that the use of the Services is in breach of the Clients' university or school regulations or the provisions governing academic work or in the event that the Client shall have referenced any substituted work to their university or school to the use of the Services.
